What is the Student Assistance Program?
The purpose of this program is to identify and help students experiencing difficulties due to a variety of problems such as:
-
Using alcohol or other drugs
-
Changes or crisis in your home such as separation, divorce, illness, death, or any loss
-
Troubles with friends
-
Managing emotions - Feeling sad, lonely, angry, or anxious
-
Poor self-image or self-esteem
-
Pregnancy
-
Eating Disorders
-
Academic problems - lack of organization, ineffective study skills, lack of motivation
How does it work?
Ms. Doyle works with students in groups or one on one with students to give them the support and information needed to function better.
-
You may refer yourself to Ms. Doyle in Guidance by email or in person.
-
You may refer a friend if you are concerned about him/her/they.
-
Your guidance counselor, teacher, coach, assistant principal, or principal may refer you.
*Ms. Doyle cannot share anything you tell her without your permission unless a student is suicidal, homicidal, or being abused. In those situations, Ms. Doyle must share information with the proper people to keep the student safe.
Until we can connect, check out or Zen Den for some helpful resources!
Have hope! I’m here to help!
